About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Fun in Any Language

We spent Monday night alone, and got up this morning to a beautiful day. We headed outside to enjoy it. Right around the corner from our hotel is the Shinjuku Chuo Park. They have a beautiful waterfall in a central common area which is great for pictures! In fact, I took a picture of Andrew at this waterfall in 2004.
The park is huge, with a great children's play area at the other end of the park.

As we came around the corner to the children's play area, Andrew let out a soft "ooohhhh". It was so cute. Poor kid had been cooped up in a hotel room for days and wandering around a strange city with Mommy. Now was his time!

As we looked across to the "recreation area", we saw a mother and her daughter step onto a big platform and climb onto a large ball on a string, attached to a long rope going across the area. As we watched, she placed her daughter in her lap and wrapped their hands around the rope and let go. The ball they were riding slid down the long rope and across the area, and back again. Needless to say, that's where we headed next.

VIDEO FOOTAGE (you'll need the password of kenta0803 to view the videos) While I don't have a photo of US on the ball, I have a view of how fast we were going... Video 1 shows the lady and her daughter riding and Video 2 is our ride
