Karaoke
Talk About Stepping Out of My Norm! So karaoke is waaaaaaaay out of "my norm". Typically takes a few drinks to get me that loosened up. But oddly enough I enjoyed myself last night (on only one drink).
We had a yummy dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant near the Shin-Okubo station with a family living here in Tokyo.

Next, we set off for a karaoke place. You rent a small box-like room for a specified amount of time, and inside are individual karaoke machines/tv set and a table & booth for sitting. They had a HUGE book of songs, and more "recent" and up-to-date songs than you would have expected.

Andrew had a blast with his buddy Skye, "singing" into the mikes at the top of their lungs, much to the adults dismay. Don't get me wrong, it was cute, but it was loud! *smile*

We passed the mike around and each selected songs to sing. Andrew's favorite (though he wouldn't sing along with Mommy) was Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham! He sure sings it at home enough. He seemed more inclined to sing when the spotlight was NOT on him. (ie he liked to sing along with someone else's songs!).

Taka sang renditions of I Used to Love Her by Guns n Roses and Billy Joel's "You May Be Right".
