About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Chinatown in Kobe

We traveled by train to T's grandmother's (Obaachan) town of Kobe, where we were scheduled to meet her and several other relatives for dinner. For lunch, T's Aunt took us to Chinatown in Kobe and we tasted lots of yummy foods!

A rice "dish" prepared and/or served inside a hot corn husk.

A warm rice bread/cake with red bean in the middle. What is red bean you may ask? Well, I, of course, have the answer for you...

"Red bean paste or azuki bean paste (Japanese: an (), anko (餡子)) is a sweet, dark purplish-red paste used in Chinese cuisine and Korean and Japanese confectionery. It is prepared by boiling, mashing azuki beans and then sweetening the paste with sugar or honey. The husk of the beans may be removed by sieving prior to sweetening, which leads to a smoother and more homogenous paste."

Soup dumplings, to which I do not know the name. But as you bite down you get a rush of warm soup and a yummy flavor all over.
