About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Older District in Nara

In my quest to find "different" vending machines, we found one in Nara that sells batteries. Of course, it is outside a Panasonic store (in the past they have gone by the name of National in Japan).

Here is another odd vending machine. It sells beers and sake but check out the size of those sake bottles!

My mom loved the pruned trees. There is something serene about looking at trees so neat and "put together".

We next visited an area of Nara that boasts houses and temples which are hundreds of years old. You won't find that in downtown Tokyo, that's for sure! The area was beautiful and apparantly very much like Gion was, as well.

A framed case of old Japanese money.

Old pillows, the pillows are filled with rice. These could be the type of pillows used by women to keep their hairstyles off the ground and in shape for the next day. And then again, maybe I spend too much time with my nose in a book!
