About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Ueno Park & Zoo

We followed the crowd from the JR train station to Ueno Park and wandered around a bit before heading to the zoo. We've been here at least three times before, but there is always some section I didn't see before. Today was no exception.

We spent the late morning and early afternoon in Ueno Park's zoo. Adult tickets are 600 Yen and children 11 and under are free. Imagine that! The Atlanta zoo costs us $18 and after August it will be $30 for us both.

We usually tour the Atlanta Zoo loop in right at half an hour. We spent two hours at the Ueno Zoo and didn't see it all. Now, mind you, there may not be that many more exhibits. Possiby it is just laid out differently. But, nonetheless, I certainly felt like I got my money's worth.

I had hoped we'd make it to Japan in time to view the cherry blossoms in bloom, but we were a bit late. Below, you can see the remnants scattered all over the ground! But, I think I found one tree!
