About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Sunrise at what time?

It's 6:25am and Taka just left for another trip to Yonago. So, we are on our own until late, late Tuesday night.
When on our own, it's not so different except for night time. I have the hardest time going out to eat, and when Taka is gone, many times I skip going to dinner and we get Tonkatsu (pork cutlet and rice) dinners from the AMPM. Last Thursday night, I did venture out. I was even feeling brave enough to enter a true Japanese restaurant, and Andrew threw a fit inside the restaurant, so we left. Braveness gone. *smile* So we ate a the Royal Host across the street from our hotel. I tried to ask for the check in Japanese and the poor waiter was so frustrated with me. The first two times I asked, he brought me two different menus. First, the dessert menu, then a chlidren's menu. He couldn't figure out what I was asking for. I must have been using the wrong word, or totally butchering its pronounciation. Finally, I brought out my wallet and pointed to credit card. Universal, right? It worked!

Now back to today. Taka's gone and I'm wide awake. It's now 6:40am and Andrew is stirring but not awake. These days, he is like an alarm clock. He wakes up at 7am on the dot, every day. And the sun seems to rise so early here. I checked the official time, and it says "Sunrise: 4:58 AM". No wonder Andrew is wide awake by 7am! Seems like we're already sleeping in based on the sunrise. But you guys know me, and 7am is E-A-R-L-Y!

It's too early to be awake and functioning! *smile*
