About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

Korean Yakiniku, A Pig's Tongue, Beer for Children:

So we (Fred and Yoshii-san) went to a Korean Yakiniku (grilled beef) place for dinner on Friday in Yonago. I didn't realize how much I really liked Korean, if the plates are chosen right (get the beef, the "wrapper" lettuce, Miso-based Yakiniku sauce, and some kimchee!). Anyway, I had pig tongue for the first time. Kinda creeped me out but again, it was one of those things you just had to try at least once. Tasted like a fatless bacon, or more like a salami slice without the fat. It wasn't bad, but the beef that we got was way better for sure.

Also, on the table, they had an interesting sign: It says "I want to 'kampai' ('cheers!') like the adults!! For those like you, 'Good Child's Beer' or 'Good Boy/Girl's Beer'." Yes, it's non-alcoholic, but it looks like a beer bottle. 399 yen per bottle.

This restaurant was one of those places where you take off your shoes and put them in a locker at the entranceway:
