About Blog

Instead of bombarding our friends & family with mounds of pictures every single day I've created this blog.

You can access it anytime of day or night, & when you get bored reading my commentary, you can always look at the pictures & go about your day.

You can expect at least a post a day most every day, including pictures, so refresh often! Also, be sure to sign the guestbook (located here) to let us know you've visited.

A door that leads nowhere...

Today we set off for a nearby (or we thought so) Toys R Us store, in search of Kumon videos that teach Japanese. We boarded the train for a 17 minute train ride (so much for close-by).

Everytime we ride on the Toei Oedo line, I pass this door. I finally had to take a photo. The million dollar question is, "where does the door lead"? Why, right through to the other side, less than a foot away from where you went through the door. What the heck?

One afternoon in Shinjuku, we passed a bus like the above Thomas one. I had no clue where it was from and how to find it again, or even if I'd really seen it, as we rounded the corner so fast and it was gone. Then, we saw this miniature bus inside the train display at Toys R Us. It's headed for Thomas Land! Me thinks we must visit this place before leaving Japan. See all about Thomas Land here...

The electronics here are mind-boggling. At Toys R Us, Andrew and Daddy played virtual ping-pong. Andrew needs to practice those pingpong skills to play against Daddy and Uncle Javi!

So, Taka has told me about his countless bug pets when he lived in Japan. Toys R Us so graciously has beetles for purchase, along with beetle food, beetle catching nets, etc. etc. *grin* Yum!
